Guitar FAQ
1. What guitars do you support?
We support all guitars that can be hooked up to a USB port. This means your wired PlayStation(TM) 2 guitar, your wireless PlayStation(TM) 2 guitar, your wired Xbox(TM) 360 guitar, your wireless Xbox(TM) 360 guitar, your wireless PlayStation(TM) 3 guitar, your Rock Band(R) 2 guitar for the Wii and we're working on Guitar Hero guitars for the Wii.
2. What platforms do you support?
We support your guitar under Windows, Mac and Linux with Firefox. We also support Windows with Internet Explorer.
3. How do I use my Guitar Hero (R) or Rock Band (R) guitar?
- Use Firefox 3.0 or above, Chrome 10 or above, or Internet
Explorer 8 or above.
- Plug in your guitar, according to the guitar specific
instructions below
- Then you'll need to install our plugin: http://www.irok2.com/plugin
- Click on the Install Now button
- Restart Firefox or Internet Explorer (Chrome should work right away), and you're ready!
4. How do I use my wired PlayStation(TM) 2 guitar?
The PlayStation(TM) 2 guitar requires a USB dongle. There's a few of them available for purchase. Here's an example: pic here. You just plug the dongle in, and plug your guitar into the dongle. You do need to be a little careful, as not all adapters will support the whammy. We've personally had good results with the TAC(R) adapter, which has explicit support for guitar controllers, including the whammy.
5. How do I use my wireless PlayStation(TM) 2 guitar?
As with a wired guitar, you'll need a USB dongle. Just like this one: pic here. As with the wired PS2(TM) guitars, you should get one that supports guitar controllers, since others may not support the whammy bar. We've used the TAC(R) adapter, which does support the whammy bar. You plug the dongle into your computer and plug the wireless dongle that came with your guitar into the USB dongle. Turn on your guitar and sync it, and you can start rocking!
6. How do I use my Xbox 360 wireless guitar?
The Xbox 360 wireless guitar requires the Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows (R). It looks like this: pic here
- Plug it in and install the driver
- Press the white button on the Receiver: *pic here*
- Press the sync button on the guitar: *pic here*
- The guitar should now be hooked up: *pic here:Windows Xbox status program*
7. How do I use my wireless PlayStation 3 (R) guitar?
Your guitar should have come with a USB controller. Take that dongle and plug it into a free USB port on your computer. Sync the guitar with the dongle according to the instructions that came with your guitar, and you should be ready.
8. How do I use my wireless Wii guitar from Rock Band 2 (R)?
Your guitar should have come with a USB controller. Take that dongle and plug it into a free USB port on your computer. Sync the guitar with the dongle according to the instructions that came with your guitar, and you should be ready.
9. How do I use my wireless Wii guitar from Guitar Hero (R)?
We're working on updating our plugin to support these guitars, and will update this FAQ when we have finished this.

- Unplug your USB dongle or guitar, close Firefox, then insert your USB dongle or guitar and restart Firefox

14. The buttons on my guitar are mixed up!
This could be one of two things. Either we've mixed up your guitar configuration, or somebody has created a custom guitar configuration for you. You can either configure your guitar or delete your custom configuration. If we have mixed up your guitar configuration, please let us know!
